Digi Know...PSEv7 Tip #4

You could set your text to wrap? When using the text tool, the default is to type one straight line. It will go on forever unless you press the Enter key to start a new line. Did you know you can restrict text to an area by drawing a text box? Activate the text tool in the toolbox, and click & drag on an image to create a text box the size of the text area you desire. Start typing in the box & your text will automatically start a new line & stay inside the box.

To start a new line, press Enter once. To start a new paragraph, press Enter twice.

This is a great way to add text to a flyer or scrapbook page and control exactly where the text is placed on the page.

Digi Know...PSEv7 Tip #3

You could see a sample of your fonts when deciding which one to use? Simply Go to Edit > Preferences > Type and check the box for Font Preview Size. Choose a size from the dropdown menu from Small to Huge. When the text tool is active, click the font menu on the options bar to see the font samples.

Meet Roxie!

I got a surprise visit from a furry little friend last week...meet Roxie! Isn't she a cutie? Look, she's totally smiling for the camera too...wonder if she gets that from Claudette or Miguel? =)

Thanks Claudie & Miguel for stopping by and letting me meet cute little/big Roxie! She's so adorable in her outfit - T-shirt & Khaki pants. I loved watching her run around the store in those pants.

Hope she can visit again!

Explosion Box w/Fuji

Earlier this month, I was lucky enough to be able to participate in a fun class taught by Fuji Murakami to learn how to make an Explosion Box. Fuji took her Stampin' Club on a field trip to Pineapple Cove to teach them this cute box that when opened, explodes to reveal hidden goodies.

Photos from the class are available for viewing on the left-hand sidebar. The finished product is large sturdy box with a bottom and a lid. When you open the lid, the inside "explodes" to reveal hidden pockets where you can insert gift cards, tags, notes, stamped images, etc. The entire project uses 4 (four) 12x12 sheets of DP. We used Kaiser Kraft DP since they come with four coordinating colors, as well as it's double-sided, which made the box even more pretty and unique.

I'll be teaching this class in October - so look out for my newsletter, or check the Calender for updates. I had a dry run teaching this class today with a bunch of girlfriends from Blog-Land. They were so sweet, they brought the party to the store so that I could participate in the fun. So I taught them how to make this box...there were a few hiccups along the way (sorry girls!!), but in the end, we were able to figure it out. =) Thanks for a fun filled day!

Got some new inventory in that I'll be posting afterwards. Hope you are all have a wonderful weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

You could zoom in and out of an image with your mouse scroll wheel in Photoshop Elements 7.0? To quickly zoom in and out on an image in the work area, set your mouse scroll wheel to zoom by going to Edit > Preferences > General (Ctrl + K) and check the Zoom with Scroll Wheel box. Click OK to exit the preferences dialog. Scroll the mouse wheel forward to zoom in and backward to zoom out.
