Sew Easy tool & accessories are re-stocked!
We also have the new Mini Magnet Mat by We R Memory Keepers. A few months ago, we brought in the large magnetic cutting mat - great for scrapbooking and cutting fabric. This time, We R made a mini version that measures 5"x7", perfect for card making and working on smaller cutting projects.
LOVE that it's magnetic, and that it comes with a 6" magnetic ruler. Allows you to "layout" your design first without committing to the glue! Yikes.... don't you hate it when you have to try to "adjust" because the placement was wrong or crooked?
Now you don't have to...the mat works with WE R's magnet posts, strong magnets that will hold your project in place as you design and place your embellishments until you get it just right.
Have a safe 4th of July!

Sew Easy & Yo Yo Maker
I finally got a chance to play with my Sew Easy tool and Flower Yo-Yo Maker that have been HOT sellers here at Pineapple Cove!
Here's the card I came up with. Simple and clean.
The leaves were made using the Sew Easy tool with the large Vine piercing head. I LOVED how they turned out. The holes that were pierced by the tool made it SEW easy to bamboo stitch the vines and loop stitch the leaves. I also loved the fact that I was able to swirl the tool along my paper to create the crooked vines.
Hand stitching the vines brought back so many memories of my grandmother. She taught my sister and I how to embroider when we were in elementary school. We each got a set of floss which she braided into a rope so we could easily pull out the colors we needed. She then sketched some vines, leaves and flowers onto a pillow case for our first project. I LOVED it!!! I know I have the pillow case tucked away somewhere for keepsake...miss you Grandma!
The fabric flowers here were made with the Flower Yo Yo maker in size small. I just took a few scraps of fabric and followed the instructions that come with the tool to make these adorable fabric flowers. I thought they added a nice touch to the hand stitched vines. Next project...I hope to use the flower and butterfly yo yo's to make some hair clips.

Sew Easy Tips & Tricks - Part 2
Here are some "basics" on getting the most out of your Sew Easy!
Before you can start piercing, it's important to have the right Piercing Mat:
Paper/Cardstock
We R Memory Keepers recommend that you use "paper or light card" weight with the Sew Easy tool. With a little practice, you are able to pierce through thicker cardstock weight like Bazzill Basics using the following technique:
Before you can start piercing, it's important to have the right Piercing Mat:
- You need a firm but soft base like foam to allow the piercing tool to pierce holes through your paper easily.
- If your mat is too hard, the paper will crumple, as there is no "give"
- The Sew Easy Piercing Mat is ideal to use, but I've had success with using a soft mouse pad too
Paper/Cardstock
We R Memory Keepers recommend that you use "paper or light card" weight with the Sew Easy tool. With a little practice, you are able to pierce through thicker cardstock weight like Bazzill Basics using the following technique:
- You will want to keep the edge of the pierce head parallel to your paper like the illustration below. If you don't keep it parallel, your pressure will not be even, which will result in crumpled paper.
- If you are using thicker cardstock, push the Sew Easy tool along steadily and firmly. If you roll too quickly, the holes won't pierce through, but you will still get some indentations that you can easily go through with a straight pick piercing tool.
- When pushing downward, use your elbows and not just your finger. You won't get enough pressure with just your finger, and it will help minimize the paper/cardstock from shifting and crumpling.
- Lastly, thread up your needle with floss and stitch away!
