Poinsettia Flowers

It's so simple to make Poinsettia flowers for your holiday tags, cards, packaging and gifts this holiday season with McGill's Paper Blossoms Punch Program. Just Punch...Shape...& Assemble!

The poinsettia is created using two punches - Water Lily & Crystal. With the water lily punch, you can create two sizes of poinsettias, and use the same punch for the leaves.

Dress up your favor boxes for holiday parties, attach them to your cards for a classic christmas card, or use them to embellish your christmas tags. These versatile punches will give you realistic 3-D flowers for any occasion!

Paper Flowers!

Paper flowers are popping up everywhere, even at Pineapple Cove!! Kahala Mall had a fashion show last weekend, and we were commissioned to come up with something for the show. Since the fashion show was showcasing a lot of the clothing from the boutiques downstairs, I thought it would be nice to make some paper flowers to help accessorize the outfits walking down the runway. So I came up with these paper flower pins for the girls to accessorize with.

This is a set of chrysanthemum flowers I cut with my Craft Robo. I cut 5 different layers, then glazed them with Ultra Thick Emobssing Enamel (thanks Annie for turning me onto this amazing product!) I simply used the wooden end of a small paint brush to curl the edges. The pink one is my favorite!

Next is a pair of roses. I cut strips of some of my scrap DP, crinckled up the paper by scrunching it up in my hand. Then wrapping it around in a circle. I punched a little circle as the backing to adhere the rosebuds on with hot glue.

Lastly, these may look a little familiar to you. Remember my dress form that I covered with flowers? I simply took 3 flowers to make this bunch and added a Kaisercraft rhinestone in the middle.

All three projects were super easy and I loved the fact that I was able to use up my scraps!! I'll have more paper flower projects to share in the near future.

Happy Crafting!!

Amazing What You Can Do With Paper!

I'm always amazed at the versatility of paper....I went shopping with my girlfriend on Friday and found this cute metal framed dressform that I thought would make a great addition to the store. (Sorry, I forgot to take a "before" picture...this is the finished product.)

I wanted to decorate her with paper...so came up with the idea of forming her "dress" with some paper flowers that I folded. I originally folded these flowers to make a paper wreath - but that project never got started, so I had a bunch of these flowers just lying around. If you have lots of scraps lying around, this is a great way to make use of them. The large flowers are made out of 1.5"x4" strips of paper, and the small ones are 1"x3" strips.

After finishing the skirt, I took strips of 1"x12" cardstock and weaved it in her bodice to create the top. Finishing it off are lavendar grossgrain ribbon wrapped around for the straps. I love the end product and have it on display at the store.
