For Teri's One Card Swap - July, I was so lucky & fortunate to have Linda from Simple & Sassy Creations as my OCS partner. Since the first time we met, we had an instant connection and blabbed all night about how we love paper crafting. She was kind enough to help me out at a Make-n-Take during our sidewalk sale where we blabbed even more! She's a hoot and so kind, so I really wanted my card to her to be special! I found out her favorite color was Purple...so I made this pop-up card for her. The card lies flat and fits into a size A4 envelope.
Once the card is opened, the message "slides" out and the card sits standing up. I printed a note to her on vellum and attached with purple grossgrain ribbon against a nice DP.
I blinged out the "F" with stickles and the rest of the word for Friend was cut using my good ol' QuicKutz Squeeze. Flowers are from Prima. Really hope she likes the card because she really is a true "Friend"!!
Linda made a special hand delivery of her card to me. I sorta cheated and got a peek of my card on her blog before receiving it. As soon as I saw it on her blog, I was like OMG - what a gorgeous card!! I couldn't wait for her to drop it off. I have to say, the card is even MORE gorgeous in person!!
I think this is called a Tri-Shutter card...they look pretty intricate, but Linda told me they are pretty easy to make. I'll have to try one...boy did she put a lot of detail into it.
Love the colors she used...green has been a very popular color this season for weddings. It's a very soothing and calm color. Thanks so much Linda for my card, I LOVE IT!!
If you want to join Teri's OCS - she's taking sign-ups for August now on her blog.

Sidewalk Sale Re-Cap
Boy has it been a busy week and busier weekend with the sidewalk sale! Thanks to everyone who stopped by to take advantage of the discounts and Crafting @ the Cove Membership offer. We truly appreciate all your support and it's always a pleasure seeing you and catching up on your latest projects and happenings. I wanted to share some photos taken today as well as send out some special thank yous...
First, a BIG SPECIAL MAHALO to my girl Linda over at Simple and Sassy Creations for taking time away from her crafting to spend a day helping me with today's Make-n-Take. She generously helped me cut out 150 Hello Kitty embossed heads and helped me run the table. We had a blast chatting away as usual and learned lots about each other. It sure made the time pass quickly. I enjoyed every minute of it..thanks girl for everything! I owe you big time!
Here's the cute HK head she so generously cut for me...150 of them can you believe it!
Secondly, BIG MAHALO to all of you girls who mentioned my sale on your blog. Teri (Big Ideas from a Little Girl); Joy (Tamiko's); Claudette (Islander Girl Stampin); Janis (Creative Expressions); Linda (Simple & Sassy Creations). If I missed anyone, I am SO SO sorry! I'm so blessed to have met so many wonderful people who share the same passion for paper crafting, your support is sincerely appreciated and I Thank You greatly!!
Third, I have to thank HueLe, my sister for holding down the fort in the store while I'm downstairs at the Make-n-Take table. She's SO not into crafting...and doesn't have a clue when people ask her what type of adhesive would be good, or what an acrylic stamp is. But she's cute, friendly and can run the register...so I am always grateful for her help! To my BFF Judith...she kept me company on Friday, the first day of the sale. The sweetest person you'll ever meet...always supporting me and offering help wherever she can. You're the best friend a girl could ever want, so glad you're in my life!
And last, but of course not least, to Victor who always remained calm and supportive while I stressed and scrambled around getting everything ready for the sale. You always give me perspective and keep me thinking on the positive side, even when things seem impossible! You are my rock, xoxo!
Lastly, two more photos to share. The girls from Aloha Windward's Military Scrapbookers came by the table today to make the Hello Kitty gift card holder. These girls are so hilarious...especially when you are all together. Hope you enjoyed making the gift card..I always enjoy your visits...and next time you come by, make sure to bring me your projects so I can see what you've been working on!
Here's Linda with Cami from Capture a Heart who stopped by to say Hello and meet Linda for the first time. She was so generous to buy Linda and I some adorable Truffle Cones from Godiva...they were so cute. Thanks Cami!!
That's it for tonight...gotta go home and get some rest for tomorrow, the last day of the sale! Hopefully I'll remember to take some more photos tomorrow to give you a re-cap of the weekend. In addition, we got in some new products that I'll be posting about after this weekend. So happy crafting everyone and I'll talk to you soon!

Aloha Windward's Military Scrapbookers
I had the pleasure of meeting another fun scrapbooking group yesterday, this time from the Windward side of Oahu. They are Windward's Military Scrapbookers and we had a blast with them in the store.
Their group was recently started on Meetup.com and they get together about two times a month to scrap & share ideas. A few of the gals just started scrapping, so a warm "welcome & aloha" to this wonderful craft...I'm warning you, it's addicting! I can't wait to see your projects!!
Thanks so much for visiting, I had so much fun meeting all of you and a big Mahalo to Jay for spreading the word.

Classes Anyone?
Aloha everyone!! Hope you all had a productive crafting weekend...I didn't get a chance to make anything this weekend, but I did get to meet some really talented gals! Some of you may already know Claudette from Islander Girl Stampin. If not, check out her blog..she has some awesome projects on there. That girl is so talented!! While we were talking away, I asked if she would be interested in teaching some Digi Scrapbooking classes here at the store. Since she'll be in Japan next month, we won't start anything until August, so I wanted to get some feedback in the meantime to see what type of things you'd like to learn. Post a comment or email me directly telling me what you'd like to learn in regards to digital scrapbooking. Some ideas I had in mind are: Digi Scrapping 101, Using Photoshop Elements, Using Brushes...and don't forget to let me know what skill level you're interested in (Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced). I'm really excited about getting these classes going and working with Claudette...so stay tuned!
Another talented gal I met this weekend was Joscie, go check out her blog at OhScrap! Talk about talent...she scrapbooks (traditional & digital = hybrid), sews, crochets, takes beautiful photographs AND raises a beautiful family just to name a few. Girl, don't know how you do it all!! She's been published in Creating Keepsakes, Memory Makers, and Scrapbook Trends...her layouts are AMAZING!! I'll be working with her to see if she can come teach some classes here too, so be on the lookout for that!
We've got so much talent here on the islands...I can't wait to get my classes started so that we can all make new friends, learn new ideas and techniques and best of all, share our passion for paper crafting with each other. Take care everyone and I'll see you soon!

Versatility of Designer Paper
Happy Monday!! Hope you all had a chance to work on some projects this weekend. I picked up some wooden letters from Wal-Mart last month and finally got inspired to decorate it when I came across some DP from Stemma. I'm still on the pink & brown color scheme, so I think that plus the paisley's got me inspired.
I thought the initials would make great wall art. The "V" of course stands for Victor, my other half who without him, I wouldn't have taken the leap to follow my dreams of owning a store. Thanks Babe for being SO supportive and helping me bring this into reality! Wouldn't have done it without you!! And "M" of course, for Manle.
I think it's still missing something....I like the simplicity of it, but I think the "M" needs something more...what do you think?
One of my favorite elements is the filigree on the bottom of the V. This was a cut out I made using the Craft Robo..it's very similiar to the Cricut except no catridges to buy and uses software that cuts any font or image.
I simply traced the letters onto the 12x12 DP, cut and adhered to the wood with Mod Podge. I added a thin layer of Mod Podge over the paper to seal and give it a glossy sheen. Embellishments were then added (organza ribbon, scallop hearts from Marvy punch, & Prima flowers). Oh, and can't forget the Stickles...I don't think you can see from the photo, but I used Lime Green and Diamond Stickles to add some glitter to the DP and flowers. Now I just need to figure out where to hang this up in the store.
Thanks for visiting!
