I'm always amazed at the versatility of paper....I went shopping with my girlfriend on Friday and found this cute metal framed dressform that I thought would make a great addition to the store. (Sorry, I forgot to take a "before" picture...this is the finished product.)
I wanted to decorate her with paper...so came up with the idea of forming her "dress" with some paper flowers that I folded. I originally folded these flowers to make a paper wreath - but that project never got started, so I had a bunch of these flowers just lying around. If you have lots of scraps lying around, this is a great way to make use of them. The large flowers are made out of 1.5"x4" strips of paper, and the small ones are 1"x3" strips.
After finishing the skirt, I took strips of 1"x12" cardstock and weaved it in her bodice to create the top. Finishing it off are lavendar grossgrain ribbon wrapped around for the straps. I love the end product and have it on display at the store.
