Island Girls Summer Social

This past weekend, I was so fortunate to be able to attend Teri's Island Girls' Summer Social. Teri coordinated the whole event so that a bunch of talented Hawaii crafters could get together to meet, socialize, shop & have fun! Barbie, her husband Danny and daughter Sunny hosted the event at their showroom...thank you SO MUCH for the hospitality!

The day was filled with projects, laughter, shopping and great company! We worked on 3 paper projects...a Tri-Shutter card using the cute Anime & animal dies from Quickutz, a pretty notepad holder using the Zutter machine, and a cute floral die card using the Big Shot.

We also had the great opportunity to watch Jodi from Inked Inspirations do her magic with Copics. She showed us how she uses different shades of black & grey to color hair...she makes it look so easy! She does amazing coloring, check out some of her samples below.

We also had Claudette from Islander Girl Stampin' show us some digi magic...she's awesome on her mac! She made us really cute name tags with Sweeties...go check out her blog, she's currently giving away one of her cute blog banners & blogwear using Mindy Terasawa's designs. If you are interested, she'll be at Pineapple Cove on the 29th teaching a Digital 101 class..please call the store to reserve your spot!

Jen from Pieces of Me was also there demonstrating the cool things you can make using Design Studio with your Cricut. Jen, the backpack you made was so adorable! She also had products from her online store available for sale. I was lucky enough to win one of the door-prizes she donated, a gift certificate to use at her webstore. Thanks Jen!

Then there was Joy & her daughter from Tamiko's with lots of goodies from her webstore available for purchase. I snuck away from my Photo Kiosk to check out her stash..bought me some dew drops, ink and other goodies. =) Joy, don't forget to come pick up your digi layout.

Lastly, I was there with my Photo Kiosk so the girls could design a quick 12x12 digital scrapbook with photos they took throughout the day. The pages in this post are samples of what can be created in just minutes.

Thanks Teri for a great event that allowed us to create new friendships! I had a great time and thank you for the opportunity to attend. Looking forward to the next one....=)! Island Girls, it was great to finally meet some of you in person. I've been following your blogs for a while now and am always inspired by your creativity..thanks for sharing your wonderful projects. Your RAKs are beautiful and I've eaten most of my goodies already!

New Smooch Ink, Martha & Mango Luau

Delight the eye with a Kiss of Color! We just got another shipment of Smooch Ink..this time a few new colors like Taffy, Grape Soda, Lucious Lime and Snickerdoodle. Also re-ordered Siren, Moonlight and Silver Fox.

Smooch Inks are pearlized pigmented inks made by Clearsnap in a nail-polish bottle (.33 oz). The foam applicator allows you to get into tiny areas for detail work. You can use it on paper, glass, cardstock, fabric, wood, clay, metal, acrylic and much more! Acid free & fast drying.

I found some video tutorials on different ways you can use Smooch so you can see it's versatility.

We also got in the Spider Web Edger & Corner punch by Martha Stewart, as well as the Drippy Goo punch. Getting ready for Halloween!

Lastly, two new 12x12 Designer Paper by Bo-Bunny called Mango Luau also arrived. I'm still SO IN LOVE with the color brown...so paired with orange and green, our store colors, it was perfect! These are double-sided and can be used for any occasion! The images below show you the front & back of one sheet so you see both patterns.

This one is called Coconut - I love the whimsical design of the flowers. So pretty!

This one is called Babe...big & bold! The darker side could also be used on some Halloween themed projects!

Thanks for visiting and hope you guys have a productive crafting weekend!

The Greeting Farm Stamps - Now Available

I'm so excited to finally get my hands on these adorable Ian & Anya stamps!! I've seen them around blogland for quiet some time now...FINALLY get to play with them. They just arrived today.

Those of you who are not familiar with The Greeting Farm stamps - these are rubber stamps made from deep etched red rubber and pre-mounted on cling cushion. You simply trim the rubber and adhere to an acrylic block. You get the best of both worlds....nice impression of rubber, but ease of storage & ability to see where you stamp.

1st Class @ Pineapple Cove

I want to thank Marie, Dana, Jay, Janine, Mey, Fuji, Jennifer & her daughter for attending the first class we had @ Pineapple Cove! I had so much fun showing you how to make the pop-up card...hope you all enjoyed it as well!

To view more photos from the class, checkout the new gadget I added on the sidebar. Jennifer's daughter was SOO cute...she sat there quietly the whole time watching mommy craft. Another highlight was when Mey made us all laugh with her upside down card....and Victor was able to capture it all on film.

Victor and I want to thank you all sincerely for all your support as we experience the many "firsts" here @ the Cove. It's been a big learning experience for us, and I've gotten the chance to meet so many talented island crafters who share a love and passion for paper crafting. I FINALLY have people to talk to about this crazy, endless, exciting, creative and amazing hobby....who get excited over things like paper, gadgets and ribbon. =) So thank you!

Desk Set

Remember the pencil case I posted a while ago? My friend Dora stopped by to do some projects with me today and brought along a composition book that she wanted to decorate. I've seen this around a couple of blogs, especially since school is just starting. So I thought I'd make a complete desk set using the same color scheme. This is what I came up with...

1. Pencil Holder
2. Notebook
3. Post-it Note Holder

The DP is from Kaiser Craft and the line is called "Pretty in Pink". Flowers and rhinestones are also from Kaiser Craft - I love how all their lines have coordinating flowers, bling and brads. It makes matching things up so much easier!!

Here's a close-up of the Post-It Note holder and pencil holder.

And here is a close-up of the composition book. The word "Notes..." is American Craft Thickers. I love this stuff!

If any of you are interested in creating this set in a class, just post a comment or email me and I can set it up. Hope you are all having a wonderful weeknd!!
