Pineapple Cove Now Open!

Warning you in advance..this post is going to be a long one. It's been months since I've posted, so lots to share! After months of long nights, tired muscles and filthy clothes, the wait is finally over! We are now open on the rooftop of Kahala Mall, right above Carl's Jr. Here are some before and after photos showing our slow progress. Let me know what you think, Victor picked out the colors and did the layout...I just had to organize and put up the merchandise. I'm so glad the "moving" part is done - it was so exhausting!

This side of the room is located near our 2nd entrance which is right next to The Diamond Specialist. Planning to hold classes, demonstrations, make-n-takes and crops here. In addition, as a service to our customers, you can call in advance to reserve this space if you need to hold assembly parties for your invitations and favors that are purchased from the store. Schedule of classes will be coming soon, let me know if there's any specific technique or class that you'd be interested in learning.

This back side of the room is where the register and check-out will be. I spend most of my time back here ringing up sales and working on samples for the store. Next to the register is the Accucut Grande Mark, which can be used for FREE to cut your invitations and favor boxes after you purchase your cardstock and designer paper.

The other side of the register area is where you'll find most of the merchandise. We have LOTS of different designer paper to choose from...Kaiser Craft, Bo Bunny, Flair Designs, American Crafts, Pebbles Inc., just to name a few. Everything is organized by theme and we have paper and embellishments for all occasions...Military, School, Vacation, Birthday, etc. If there's something you need that we don't have, we might be able to special order for you, just ask!

Below are just some other things we carry....

We also have a clearance area that is 50% off! So stop on by and say Hello! Store hours are Monday to Saturday (10am - 7pm) and Sunday (10am - 5pm). Can't wait to see all of you...oh and don't forget to print the coupon below that's available only on the blog. Simply click on the coupon to be directed to a page that is printer-friendly.

Kick Up Your Heels!

Who doesn't love a pair of cute shoes? This one is part of Hero Arts "High Heels" Clear Design set. Comes with the sentiment along with 3 other cute shoe designs.

I made this for my February One Card Swap (OCS) to give to Teri. I really hope she likes it....

Teri is taking sign ups for March's OCS - so go on over and sign up by the end of the month. I have a link in my previous post to her sign up and details for the swap. It's super fun and little stress since you only have to make 1 special card. And the best part - you get to share your hard work and creativity with other crafters who really appreciate the time and detail put into creating these beautiful cards!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

One Card Swap

Teri hosted a "One Card Swap" over at her blog: Big Ideas from a Little Girl, and I was so lucky to be partnered up with with her. Here's the beautiful and adorable card she made for me...isn't it SWEET!

I especially love the unique way she made the flaps of the card open. I had so much fun with this swap - thanks Teri so much for coordinating & hosting it!! Can't wait for next month..Click Here if you want to sign up for March.

Hugs & Hearts

Teri over at Big Ideas from a Little Girl created a wonderful tutorial for these cute treat holders. I wanted to give my co-workers some valentine wishes & candy, so these were the perfect size. Go and check out her tutorial - it's super easy and she's extremely talented. Thanks Teri for the great idea!!

I forgot to take photos of what the inside looks like..basically, you pull up the ribbon and the treat pulls out. These currently hold a box of the Sweethearts Tart Candy.

I used White CS, Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing Folders, DP from Moxxie, Marvy Uchida Heart Scallop punch in two sizes and sentiment is from Hero Arts.

Baby Shower Set

I don't think you would be interested in reading or seeing pictures of the construction and paint we are doing throughout the store as we get it ready for opening, so I thought I'd start posting some projects that I've been working on...

I just attended a baby shower today for one of my girlfriends...she's having a baby girl. I wanted to make her something cute, so I started out with the card. I used this cute Giraffe from Imaginisce (Love these Snag'em stamps which retail for only $1.00!).

My favorite color scheme right now is anything paired with Dark Brown (esp Pink or Blue)...so I decided to use this colorful and happy orange to coordinate with the Giraffe. This became the inspiration for a goodie basket where I used similar shades of orange and the circle pattern to decorate the gifts I bought her. Here's what the final product looked like.

The Lion and Monkey are from Autumn Leaves "Mindy's Zoo" stamp set. I love Mindy Terasawa's designs - they are absolutely gorgeous and adorable! The elephant is from Fiskar's "Baby" stamp set; and the DP is from a DCWV paper pack. The shower was lots of fun, I hope she liked the gift.

Before & After

PROGRESS UPDATE: Here's a sneek peak at what the inside of the store looked like before we start the demo and construction to transform it into an inviting paper craft store.

The prior owners were Regal Travel - that explains the big map in the middle of the wall. At first, I thought it would be cool to keep the map for our "travel" area - but it takes up way too much space. Okay, now brace yourself for what the space looks like now after we moved some of our "stuff" out of storage...

What a mess!!! And it was such hard work...there's a weight and height limit going up the ramp to the store - so we had to make multiple small runs up and down the ramp with our two small trucks. It was a very looong day....one more weekend like this and I think we'll have all our "stuff" out of storage!

It was all worth it though...it finally feels like "our store" now with all this junk in it.

We've Found Our New Home!

Happy New Year! It's been a long time since there was any news for us to update regarding finding a new spot for the store. There were a few potentials, but nothing panned out. Victor and I didn't think it would take so long...but after some patience, we're happy to announce that we have a new home...

With keys in hand, we'll be opening soon at Kahala Mall. There's plenty of free parking, it will be easy to find, and there's a great family and community atmosphere. We'll be located on the rooftop right by the elevator that goes down to the theaters. We're planning the layout and will soon start construction. It will take us a few months to get ready...so I'll be posting our progress on this blog.

What a great way to start off the new year! Can't wait to see all of you soon.
