Storage for Nesties

Storage is a constant struggle when it comes to my craft tools and supplies. Here's a plastic bin I used to store all my Nestabilities Spellbinder dies.

I kept them in their original packaging because they were slim and stackable. However, it was always a pain for me to search through the pile to look for the right die I wanted to use for a project. In addition, the adhesive strip that held the metal dies together didn't always hold well, so the dies would shift all inside the packaging.

I came across these CD holders from my g/f Carmel and a lightbulb light up inside my head. I wondered if the size would fit my Nestie dies. I've seen other bloggers store their Nesties this way, so I wanted to give it a try.

You could probably use an old CD case for this storage project - but the thing I liked about Carmel's CD holders were that they folded back 45 Degrees to sit atop your desk. This made it easy for me to see the dies & grab the one I needed without having to devote too much workspace for them.

I made labels for the spine and cut a self adhesive magnet sheet to fit on one side of the flap. That way, the metal dies would hold in place without shifting around in the case. On the opposite side, I cut some black cardstock and adhered the Nestie label on top. Below are the measurements I used for these CD Case, which are available for purchase at Pineapple Cove in packs of 5.

Measurements:
Self Adhesive Magnet Sheet - Cut to 4.75" x 5"
Label with Spine - Cut cardstock 4.75" x 5.75", score 1/4" at one end for the spine
